Inside Day

The market found some footing today trading up over 150 points by midday. But, a late afternoon sell-off closed the Dow up only 38 points. This inside day was expected as the market needed some time to consolidate the wide travel ranges we experienced the last few days. Weakness prevailed today, even in the attempted bounce. Lehman Brothers' brutal sell-off over the past two days has scared the market. The market looks to be fulfilling its own prophecy by bankrupting Lehman in a manner similar to Bear Sterns. The future looks to hold lower prices.
