Car Manufacturer Power Shift

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

American manufacturing has been on the decline for quite some time now but it is quite amazing to see the relative size of the current major car manufacturers. The current market capitalizations of the American car manufacturers are unbelievably low compared to other world car makers.

World Car Manufacturers:
Toyota Motor Corporation - $147.48 B
Volkswagen AG - $114.13 B
Honda Motor Corporation - $61.73 B
Daimler AG - $61.59 B
Nissan Motor Corporation - $33.19 B
Ford Motor Company - $10.56 B
General Motors Corporation - $6.65 B

America's two largest car manufacturers find themselves at the bottom of the list in terms of market capitalization. Wow, how we've fallen behind!
